Ensata Cowl in Kenai

Like many of you, I have been knitting to find a bit of calmness and serenity during this lockdown. I saw this post on Brooklyn Tweed’s Instagram and just had to get the pattern! Amy van de Laar / baroquepurls created such a brilliant pattern. I just can’t resist these type of knitting where clever lace and twisted rib make such an ingenious texture and wonderful stitch definition!

I still had a few skeins of Knit Picks Gloss Fingering after working on the Love Note, so I decided to give the Ensata Cowl a go. The reverse twist ribbing was nice to do, and the lace pattern definitely kept me on my toes!

This cowl will be a birthday gift for my mom-in-law. The last time I gifted her a scarf was quite a long time ago, when all I was doing was practicing my garter stitches! She has since received other knitted garments from me, but still loves the scarf. It’s time for an upgrade! 🙂

All blocked and ready to gift!

I did only two pattern repeats to make it a shorter cowl. I enjoyed knitting the Ensata Cowl so much, I will be casting on my second. This time I will be using Peerie from Brooklyn Tweed!
