While browsing Ravelry, I decided to keep going further into colorwork with this pattern – Autumn Alpine by Boyland Knitworks. The Scandinavian-style floral yoke looked fun to knit, and after seeing Meredith/magicktryx’s Autumn Alpine, I really wanted to try using 2 CCs, too.
I decided on Lion Brand LB Collection Superwash Merino when I came across a sale – the Briarsmoke color is a pretty shade of muted gray-brown. I decided to try to use my stash of Optimum DK for CC1, and I still have half a skein of leftover LB Collection Superwash Merino in Dijon for CC2!

It was pretty challenging to knit with three colors at once. I had to be super mindful of tension so it doesn’t come out too tight, and also not get all the yarns twisted together while switching and catching floats. It took a full month to finish the yoke – I’m not super happy with how I handled CC2 (Dijon), but I learned a lot.

The rest of the sweater is pretty straight-forward – no shaping, it’s got more of a wide/cropped silhouette that seems to be the trend. The ribbed texture with two colors along the hem, cuffs and collar all match and is a really nice detail.

I had to deal with a super stressful matter while working on the sweater and was glad to have just plain stockinette to power through. Completed in a little under four months.

Of course, now it’s the end of May and way too warm to wear 🙂 I guess I’ll have something new to wear in December.
