Sailboat summer shirt (and lesson learned)

Been slowly trying to get to my yarn stash this year, and one project I’ve been wanting to get to is the Anker’s Summer Shirt by PetitKnit. I had just the perfect yarn for it, too – Jo Sharp Soho Summer DK Cotton I’ve had forever and ever. For a 100% cotton yarn, it is SO nice to work with. Subtle sheen and beautiful stitch definition which worked out wonderfully for the ribbed yoke.

And now for the “lesson learned” part. Pretty obvious if you look at the last photo of the top on the blocking mat. I neglected to check DYE LOTS *facepalm*

I had 10 balls in my stash, but they were from 2 different dye lots. Not too terrible, and I will still wear my handknitted top proudly, but I can’t unsee it every time I put it on. 😣 I’ll definitely keep that in mind next time!
