I received Knitting Classic Style: 35 Modern Designs Inspired by Fashion’s Archives by Veronik Avery as a gift a while back and added a few projects in my queue. I decided to give the Skater’s Undertop a try. My goal with each project I start is to always try something new and learn from the process – the cable sleeves seem fun, and the saddle shoulder construction was new to me. I also really like the minimalist design and fit.
When the weather got warmer, I put the project in hibernation for a few months, and then I got started on the Alaska Sweater – it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I decided to pick it up again to try to finish. The saddle shoulder construction was fun to do, and I really love the cable details on the sleeves.

I knitted the size S and was pretty glad I did – I don’t like my garments to be tight-fitted and the S was just right. The LB Collection superwash merino was great to work with as well.
This is my first FO of 2022! I hope this will be another productive year. I have a few projects in the queue I’m really looking forward to.
