Knitting the collar<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n I thought it would be good to give it a try because I haven’t done any bottom-up garments before; I’ve always preferred top-down construction. This was a good learning experience; and the shawl collar was great practice for short rows with its many W&Ts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe it’s because this pattern isn’t very popular on Ravelry (it’s in 6 queues, but mine is the only project)? And even though it is supposed to be written row by row, I found quite a few errors in it, and some important steps were somehow omitted. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend it to beginners. As an “advanced beginner,” I found it quite challenging because I had to read the pattern multiple times to figure out certain steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All knitting done, ends weaved in, and ready to be blocked.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n As challenging as it was, I’m glad it somehow turned out okay. I blocked it and the cute seed stitch diamond shapes really stood out! Then came one of my favorite parts – going through my vintage button collection to find the perfect match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many buttons, so much fun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n Here is the finished cardigan. I’m actually pretty proud of myself for completing this project! I might hang on to it for a little while \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n
